I have been blessed every day to have the opportunity to work at Fairhaven Realty for the last 28 years. Within the first year of being at Fairhaven Realty, my sales volume earned me a Bay view office. For the following 28 consecutive years I have been the top agent at Fairhaven Realty.
From my office I see Bellingham Bay the San Juan Islands. close at hand, I see the Fairhaven Ship yards, (a major marine service and overhaul for Ships up to 440 feet in length), All American Marine, (a manufacturer of medium size Aluminum Boats and passenger ferries), the Fairhaven Terminal which host the southern most port of call for the Alaska Ferry service. The Terminal building itself has several businesses including a Restaurant with catering services a second story Glassed in observation room large enough for 250 person Weddings and events to be held. The San Juan Shuttle providing foot passenger service to the San Juan Islands and Victoria B.C.. The Amtrak Station and the Greyhound Bus station. all within 600 feet of one another. Marine park with a sandy beach and trails and picnic area. The lagoon and Aluminum Chamber boats. ( a major player providing high speed boats to the Navy, Marines and the pleasure craft industry. All this and more before my eyes ever day.
I commonly see eagles, blue Herons ( heron roost in the 200' tall Douglas Fir grove near the Edgemoore neighborhood) and smaller sea birds. Walkers pass by on the trail just 20 feet below and 80 west of my window.
I will save some of the other features near by for a future blog.
